Stallion Dynasties
Classic dynasties: (the only ones used for breeding in Lipica, Piber, Lipik, Topolcianky and Italy)
Conversano: The founder of this line was a dark brown Neapolitan from the stud of Count Kaunitz in Italy, named Conversano. He was born in 1767.
Favory: Favory was a dun Kladruby stallion born in 1779. This line influenced the breed in Croatia greatly.
Maestoso: Maestoso Senior, who was born in 1773, was a grey Kladruby stallion with a Spanish dam. His decedents today all trace to Maestoso X foaled 1819 in the Austrian Military stud at Mesöhegyes in Hungary.
Neapolitano: A brown Neapolitan stallion born in 1790 in Italy was the founder of this line. Horses from the Conversano and Neapolitano lines had good staying power.
Pluto: This was the first Lipizzaner stallion line, founded by a grey Spanish stallion named Pluto, born in 1765 at the Fredrickborg stud in Denmark.
Siglavy: The founder of this line was an Arabian stallion born in 1810 Arabia. Horses of this line are good breeding ones.
Other Two Dynasties:
The Lipizzan International Federation accepts these two dynasties as equal to the six classic ones.
Incitato: Incitato was born in 1802. His sire was a Romanian Siebenburger stallion named Curiso and his dam was a Spanish mare named 532 Capelano. This line is also represented through the Pluto line.
Tulipan: Tulipan was a black Baroque type stallion with a Spanish pedigree foaled about 1800 in the Croation stud farm of Terezovac.

Spadiglia: The founding dam of this line was Spadiglia, a Karst mare born in 1778. The most important mares in this line were Mirabella, Monteaura, Montenegra, Monterosa and Mora. Mares of this family in Lipica are commonly named Monteaura.
Argentina: Another Karst mare, Argentina was born in 1767. The important mares of this family were Aquilea, Austria, Ancona and Adria. In Lipica, the mares of this family are often called Slave and Adria.
Africa: Africa was a grey mare from Kladruby born in 1746. The important mares of this family were Benvenuta, Basilica, Bazovica, Brezovica, Barbana and Batosta. The mares of this family (in Lipica, presumably) are often named Barbana and Batosta.
Almerina: Almerina was another grey mare from Kladruby, born in 1769. The important mares of this line were Albania, Alba, Sistina, Santa, Slavonia, Slatina, Slovenia and Samira. In Lipica, this line has names Slavina, Samira, Slovenia and Sistina as common names.
Presciana: Presciana was a 1782-born mare from Kladruby. The most important mares of this line were Romana, Bellafiglia, Bona and Bonavia. In Lipica, the mares of this family are commonly called Bonadea.
Englanderia: Yet another grey Kladruby mare, Englanderia was born in 1773. The important mares of this line were Andalusia, Alda, Aleppa, Allotria and Allegra. In Lipica, the mares of this family are commonly named Allegra.
Europa: This grey Kladruby mare, of which there seem to have been a lot, Europa, was born in 1774. Mares of importance in this family were Musica, Traga, Trompeta and Triglava. In Lipica, the mares of this family are often called Trompeta.
Stornella: In 1978, the black Stornella was born in Kopcany, Czechoslovakia. Important mares of this line were Stornella, Stella, Steaka, Saffa, Sava and Sagana. In Lipica, the mares of this line are often named Steaka.
Famosa: Another black horse from Kopcany, Czechoslovakia, was the 2783-born Famosa. This family has died out at Lipica, but still exists in Piber and Monterotondot. In Lipica, the mares of this line were commonly called Famosa or Strana.
Deflorata: The grey Deflorata, born 1767, was from Denmark. The mares of most importance in this family were Capriola, Canissa, Cattinara, Calma and Capra. In Lipica, the mares of this line are commonly named Capriola and Canissa.
Rosza: The founder mare Rosza was born in 1886 and came from Aladar Jankovic stud. This line has died out in Lipica, as there are no representatives of the Rosza family.
Khell il Massaid: Brown Khell il Massai, was, as you have probably guessed due to her name, an Arabian. She was born in 1841. Her line has now died out.
Mersuha: Mersuha was an Arabian mare from the Arabian desert. Her line has died out.
Gidrana: Gidrana was an Arabian born in 1841. She was an Arabian. The mares of most importance to this family were Gaetana, Gaeta, Garafolina and Galanta. In Lipica, the mares of this line are often called Gaeta and Gaetana.
Djebrin: Another Arabian mare, Djebrin was born in 1862. The important mares in this family were Dubovina, Darinka and Distinta. In Lipica, the mares of this line are often named Dubovina.
Mercurio: The Arabian Mercurio was born in 1883 in the Austrian Military Stud of Radautz. Mares of this family are commonly called Gratia, Gratiosa, Graina, Gradita and Fantasia. In Lipica the mares of this line are commonly named Gratiosa.
Theodorosta: Theodorosta was an 1886-born Arabian who came from the stud of Baron Kapri at Bukovina. The famous mares of this line were Wanda, Wera and Watra. In Lipica, the mares of this line are often called Wera.
Radautzerin: This mare family, originating at Radautz, was formed at Piber in 1915.
Rebecca: This line was formed at Lipica after World War II by the Arabian mare Rebecca, who was from the former Speiser stud. In Lipica, the mares of this line are often named Thais.
Topolcianky /Piber line:
Rava: Rava was born in Kladrub in 1755. The most frequently used names for this line are Ravata, Rigoletta and Risanota.
